Update July 10/07/2020

Technical implementation finished

The members of the EURINV consortium (including Billit) have recently completed the technical implementation of the project.

The main objective of this activity is to adapt the Belgian e-invoicing solution, BILLIT, to EN16931. BILLIT (including the Access Point) is now upgraded and fully compatible with EN, including both syntaxes approved by CEN (UBL 2.1 and CII).

Update March 31/03/2020

The analysis phase is completed

The EURINV consortium members (including Billit) have recently concluded the first phase of the project. The technical and legal requirements in order to start the technical implementation have been identified by the participant EDI providers with the support of LMT Group, as well as from UPV, the coordinating institution.

The main objective of this activity is to adapt the Belgian e-invoicing solution, BILLIT, to be compliant to the EN16931. BILLIT (including the Access Point will be upgraded to be fully compliant with the EN, including both syntaxes approved by CEN (UBL 2.1 and CII).

The conclusion of this activity represents the start of the technical implementation, in which Billit will adopt the valid syntaxes (UBL and CII) of the EU Directive for their eInvoicing solutions, becoming aligned with the aforementioned directive.

Billit will upgraded to support the following use cases:

  1. A given user can manually upload a CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice in Billit and have it processed successfully.
  2. A given user can forward an-email with a CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice to a unique Billit mail address and have it processed successfully.
  3. A given company can receive a CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice via the Billit Access Point and have it processed successfully.
  4. A given user can generate a valid CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice after uploading a PDF or scan of a paper-based invoice via Machine Learning and manual validation.
  5. A given user can export any created invoice in Billit to a valid CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice
  6. A given user can send any invoice in Billit as valid CEN/TC 434 (UN/CEFACT CII) E-invoice over PEPPOL via the Access Point.

co-financed by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA)

We are proud to announce that we are members of the EURINV project consortium, co-financed by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) through its CEF Telecom Calls. The consortium is composed of 12 participants from Spain, Ireland, Slovakia, Finland, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, France, and Germany. With a duration of 18 months and launched in April 2019, the main objective of EURINV is to aid the participants to become conformant with the European Standard on Electronic Invoicing (Directive EU/2014/55) allowing cross-border transactions that will be aligned with the European Directive. In sum, the eInvoicing cloud platforms of the beneficiary EDI providers and/or their use case clients will be updated to support the compliant syntaxes UBL and CII. With projects of this nature, the objective of reaching cross-border efficiency while sending and receiving electronic invoices in the European Union and EEA takes a step further. Furthermore, electronic invoicing is already mandatory in many EU-countries for both public and private entities and all local and regional authorities will also be obliged to comply.

EURINV (“Implementing the European Standard in consolidated eInvoicing cloud platforms”) is an eInvoicing project co-financed by the European Commission within the CEF Telecom Program, managed by INEA (Executive Agency of Innovation and Networks) through the CEF-TC-2018-2 Call. The project is coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) with the support of LMT Group for technical and administrative aspects. The consortium also involves 7 EDI providers and 2 public institutions from several Member States (Belgium, Finland, Italy, The Netherland, France, Spain, Ireland, Germany and Slovakia).

The main goal of the EURINV Action is to support the EDI providers of the consortium and their clients to be conformant with the European Standard (EN) on electronic invoicing, allowing cross-border transactions according to the Directive 2014/55/EU and the regulations of the Member States. As a result of this project, the eInvoicing Cloud Platforms of 7 EDI providers will be upgraded to be fully compliant with the European Standard (EN), including syntaxes approved by CEN (UBL 2.1 and CII). In addition, two public entities will uptake a compliant European Standard eInvoicing solution.
