Use Ponto to link your bank accounts

Link Ponto in Billit
1. To link your bank accounts with Billit using Ponto, you first need to create a Ponto account and add the bank accounts that you want to link to your Ponto account.

Click here to go to the Ponto website. Click 'Get Started' to register and create an account with Ponto. You will be asked to provide your business details, contact details, and bank account numbers. During the registration process, you will receive a verification e-mail. Sometimes this e-mail may end up in your spam folder. Please check your spam folder if you did not receive the verification e-mail. Unlike Codabox or Billbank, you don’t pay start-up fees for a Ponto account. Ponto only charges monthly subscription fees. Check the Ponto website for the current rates.
2. When you are in Billit, go to 'Bank' > 'Automate', and click ‘Configure' in the Ponto tile.
3. Click on 'connect'.
4. You will now be redirected to the Ponto website. Log in with your Ponto account credentials and activate the bank accounts to which you want to give Billit access.
5. Your bank accounts are now linked with Billit via Ponto. You now can:
- Check the accounts balances on your dashboard.
- See whether a sales or purchase invoice has been paid.
- View all your bank accounts transactions under the 'Bank’ tab.
Attention! As you have noticed during the registration process, the link to Ponto and your bank is established by a verification via your bank card and your bank's card-reader. If you have received a new bank card for a certain account, you will have to perform the verification of that account again with the new bank card, as the code of the bank card with which you performed the initial verification is no longer valid after using a new card.
Q: I get the following error message: “There is a problem with Connection between your account and Ponto. Try to connect again via Settings / Integrations / Ponto or contact Ponto support on firstname.lastname@example.org .” What can I do?
A: This means that the link between Billit and Ponto has been disconnected. You can re-establish the link by clicking on the 'Automate' sub-menu in the 'Bank' menu. Then click 'Configure' in the Ponto framework.
Q: I get the following error message: “You have activated Ponto but you did not activate any bank accounts in Ponto. Therefore, automatic payment check is not possible.” What can I do?
A: This means that you are connected to Ponto but have not given Billit access to the data of your accounts in your Ponto account. You can do this by logging into Ponto with your Ponto account and turning on the switches next to the accounts to which you want to give Billit access.
Q: I get the following error message: “Ponto does not currently have access to some accounts. As a result, the transactions of that account are no longer synchronized. Log in to Ponto to re-authenticate your accounts in your Ponto account” What can I do?
A: For security reasons, depending on your bank, you will need to re-authenticate your accounts with your bank’s card reader in your Ponto account every x number of months. Sign in to Ponto with your Ponto account to re-authenticate your bank accounts.
