Multi-factor authentication / two-step verification

Secure your account with multi-factor authentication or two-step verification

In order to better secure your Billit account, you can add multi-factor authentication or two-step verification to your sign-in. You use a secondary device or line of communication to confirm your identity when logging into your account. This makes it more difficult for cyber criminals to access your online accounts as they need more than your login credentials and password, and it also creates an added layer of security.

Step 1: Download an authenticator

You can use the Google authenticator or the Microsoft authenticator. These authenticators can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android devices and from the Apple App Store for Apple devices, respectively.

Step 2: Scan the QR code with your authenticator

After downloading the authenticator to your smartphone, scan the QR code in the “multi-factor authentication” field with the authenticator.

Step 3: Enter the code generated by your authenticator

After scanning the QR code, the authenticator will generate a code. Enter this code in Billit and click ‘Activate MFA’. You have activated two-step verification.

The next time you log in to Billit, you will be asked to enter a code after logging in with your login credentials and password. You can find this in the authenticator app that you just installed under the ‘Billit’ tab.

To prevent a third party from deactivating two-step verification, you must enter the code generated by your authenticator app under “Settings” and click “Deactivate MFA” to deactivate multi-factor authentication.
